The Green & Independent Group (G&I Group) will be standing a full slate of 8 candidates at the May 2021 Essex County Council elections.
For the 8 county seats in Braintree District, the Green Party will be standing candidates in 5 divisions and the Independents will contest 3 divisions.
The G&I Group currently holds 9 seats on Braintree District Council and forms the main opposition to the Conservatives.
2 G&I district councillors also currently sit as Essex County Councillors in the Non-Aligned Group at County Hall; James Abbott (Witham Northern) and Jo Beavis (Halstead) and they are both standing again to defend their seats.
